Ironically as I'm writing the blog posts and putting together the website I've been having some flare-ups in my own anxiety, after a long period of relative peace. This of course fuels feelings of imposter syndrome, thoughts of: how dare I try to help others when I still struggle? And to that I say I do dare! I'm uniquely qualified to help others with something I struggle with and have some powerful tools to share that may help someone else. I know what is fueling the latest onset, (stress, lack of sleep taxing my nervous system) and I'm reframing this as the perfect time to write about this and self coach as I go along! So, I get it, living with anxiety can feel like an uphill battle, but what if we shifted our perspective? Instead of viewing anxiety as the enemy, it's the resisting of our anxiety and the uncomfortable feelings it produces that is keeping us stuck. Dealing with anxiety isn't easy, but the first step is realizing that resistance only makes it harder. By accepting and understanding our anxiety, we open the door to reclaiming control over our lives, and eventually the symptoms we dread will lesson over time.
So, how do we tackle this challenge? First, it's all about understanding the mechanics of our anxiety, along with self-care, and recognizing and changing any habits that may be fueling it. We may need to set some boundaries in relationships or practice relaxation techniques. We want to make sure to take time for ourselves, whether it's through exercise, meditation, or spending time with loved ones, and not being afraid to seek support if it's needed.
Challenging negative thoughts is essential in rewriting the narrative of anxiety in our lives as well. We can learn to really feel our feelings and reframe our thoughts to cultivate a more positive and empowering mindset. Remember, you're not alone on this journey.
Together, we can conquer anxiety and embrace our power to live life to the fullest. We can navigate through the challenges of anxiety and emerge stronger and more resilient on the other side!
